ARIT ISTANBUL LIBRARY
The ARIT Istanbul Library located at ANAMED contains around 10,500 monograph titles. The holdings cover the Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern Turkish periods and include the library of Dr. H. Kenneth Snipes, a strong collection for study of the Byzantine era.
ARIT ISTANBUL LIBRARY ANNEX
The ARIT Istanbul Library Annex holds the library of the Istanbul Office of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (American Board Library). The collection consists of roughly 3,000 items, of which about 1200 are monographs on the missionary movement and on 19th and early 20th century Turkey. The rest are books, pamphlets, and periodicals published by the American Board’s publication department.
ARIT ISTANBUL DIGITAL LIBRARY
A collection of American Board periodicals and pamphlets are accessible in full text online through the Digital Library for International Research (DLIR), together with the personnel archives of the American Board Near East Mission.
ARIT is processing the Archives of American Board of Missions in collaboration with SALT Research in Beyoğlu. The archives and are not physically accessible at present. A proportion of the documents appear in full text on line through the ARIT Istanbul Digital Library at DLIR, and also through the host site at SALT Research. The project is ongoing and ARIT and SALT post new material at regular intervals.
